1) Can I do a trial class for each program to see if I like one or all of them?

Yes and no. Beginner/intermediate classes are available for trials only. These classes are designed to give each member the full spectrum of exercises, and are ideal for anyone looking to start at TNT. For safety reasons, the intermediate/advanced classes as well as sparring are only available to members who have elevated to that level.

2) What are the prices?

Our prices are listed on the website under programs. There are different options to choose from, including class packs for those who can only make it in once a week or once in a while. For those not ready to commit, we have month-to-month memberships and for those looking to reach specific goals we have 3, 6 and 12-month payment options or paid in full options.

3) Can I pay cash as I go?

Only if you pay per class (which is $20). If you're looking to do month-to-month or monthly memberships, a void cheque is required and payments are taken out on the same day of every month.

4) Do you do personal training?

Yes, we have personal training for those that who rather have more individual-type training for technique, fitness or a mix of both. We have 30, 45 and 60-minute session options. Our personal training has been a particularly big with hockey players who use the boxing for conditioning during their offseason.

5) Are their lots of opportunities to compete as a boxer?

Yes. TNT Boxing Academy provides those looking to compete with many opportunities to get better as a boxer by entering club shows and tournaments. Club shows are run almost every weekend of the year. Sometimes, there are multiple club shows on a weekend all across the province. Every year, Ontario's official boxing organization hosts a provincial tournament where boxers can compete for the chance to qualify for the Canadian Championships. At that level, the opportunity is there to compete in tournaments on the world stage including the Olympics.

6) When will the next boot camp start?

At TNT Boxing and Fitness, we don't have time-based bootcamps that run for a certain number of weeks. Although we are working hard at going back to that model and running different types of timed-based bootcamps, we currently run our bootcamp classes on an ongoing basis and anyone can start anytime they want.

7) I sometimes work afternoon/evening shifts, do you have classes I can do in the morning?

Yes; however, only fitness-based classes are run in the morning (FIT BOX and Bootcamp classes). Check the schedule for days and times.

8) I am new to boxing, but have always wanted to try it out; do you have programs suitable for beginners?

Yes, our Tech Box classes have levels attached to them, so any of the classes' marked 'beginner' are perfect classes to start with. Our FIT BOX and Bootcamp classes can be done at your own pace and modifications to exercises can be made to get the best workout possible, no matter what your physical level.

9) Do you have women's only classes?

No. Here at TNT we believe the best approach is building on a community of like-minded individuals to inspire each other. We have found that people looking to achieve personal fitness goals while having fun excel from our system. So, we would like to keep the classes co-ed to get the best mix possible. Even with co-ed classes, our system of partner drills allows members to group up and work with friends or other members of any skill level. Sometimes the females in class prefer to stick together in partner and group drills, but in most cases we find the groups to be mixed.

10) What days and times do you have available for someone new to boxing to try out?

The best answer for that is to e-mail tntboxingacademy@hotmail.com or phone (519) 760-0784 to inquire about days and times. We do need notice for those looking to try it for the first time, so we can properly prepare you for your first class. Basic training takes only a short time to acclimate you to the punch number system, stance, other terminology and punch combos you might need so you can jump into the world of TNT boxing.

11) Do you have Youth ONLY boxing programs?

No, unfortunately with our current membership base, most of our members are between the ages of 16-40. Classes were added out of necessity to accommodate members coming from school, University or work at times usually set for Youth programs. There has been interest before, but not enough to build a full-time program. The youngest age we take in is 14, but exceptions are made for those who show they can handle the physical duties required as well as maturity to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.

12) What does the membership include? Is it access to all the classes on the schedule or do they cost extra?

All classes are included under any membership option you choose. The only catch is the more advanced classes (Tech Box and Competitive training/sparring) need approval by the head coach before a member can participate in them.

13) What is each class like?

A lot of FUN!!! Check out the descriptions under 'Programs' for details on each program.
